The word dyad means two distinct halves coming together to form a whole.
In our world this can be the parent and the child, the doula and the mother, the practitioner and the family.
Or the stories we tell, and the community we build because of them.
The intention behind DYAD.
DYAD. wasn’t born in a boardroom with a business plan. It was born on my kitchen counter with nothing but the determination to create something for our community. Inundated with emails, newsletters, and notifications, I wanted to build something that doesn’t get lost in the rush of the daily grind. Something to hold that allows us to slow down at the end of the day.
As a new Doula, I often felt torn between the different tables to sit at. The clinical side, the “do whatever you want” side, and the wellness and holistic bubble. But throughout my life, I've always had an intuitive knack for bringing people together who - due to societal structures, cultural backgrounds, or religious beliefs - usually
wouldn’t have found themselves sitting around the same table.I had, mostly unintentionally, created these spaces before, and I wanted to create one for our community. Whether you are a doula, a midwife, a researcher, a sleep consultant, or someone with unique skills, there is a space here for everyone who supports parents and families.

DYAD. is entirely for the community, by the community. It’s an intentional place for all of us to connect and contribute. Whether you are a leading voice in the industry or sharing your story for the very first time, status and follower counts hold no weight here. We care about the experience, expertise and the shared wisdom that keeps us connected.
While our first issue dives into Matrescence, the magazine itself is here to stay as a permanent home for our collective journey. Because this is a true community project, DYAD. won’t be a perfectly curated, rigid magazine. Columns and features might come and go as we evolve, but your voice genuinely matters here.
I built this space because I believe that community thrives when everyone has a seat at the table. If you want to chat, collaborate, or share your story, my door is always open.
